How can the same filtration system have different MERV values?

The duct system will provide fixed dimensions for the disposable filter/media, but you can purchase a variety of different brands for the actual disposable filter. Different products will provide different levels of filtration (and different prices!)

Attention to detail can certainly help the cause.

We have tried to answer as much as we can here, but something this technical is bound to generate questions we didn't consider.
